Brent Jackson started in a cabinet dealership just like yours. Brent’s parents, Bob & Nita, started selling cabinets in 1963. Their family business started like that of many other dealers — from scratch. At age 7, Brent was holding up cabinets for his father to install and dreaming of one day running the business.
When Brent was ready for college, he wanted nothing more to do with cabinets. He chose a career in technology instead. By the time Brent graduated, his dad had built a multi-location, multi-million dollar cabinet dealership.
Brent worked at Ernst & Young helping fortune 100 companies automate and streamline their operations with the use of software. When his mother became ill from the stresses of managing a cabinet dealership, he gave up his corporate technology career to help with the family business. Brent couldn’t believe running a cabinet dealership could be so overwhelming. In 1997, Brent contacted an old friend from Ernst & Young and the two set out to help make cabinet dealers more profitable.
And a software solution called CompanionCabinet was born. In the years that followed, CompanionCabinet Software, LLC expanded its services beyond just software, and today coaches dealers on all aspects of transforming their business. CompanionCabinet users now make up the largest installed base of any business management solution in the Cabinet Industry.
Brent’s vision became a reality — to create a complete set of solutions for cabinet dealers that helps owners make more money and lead more enjoyable lives.
